Fourth-year architecture students at Wrocław University of Science and Technology
Introduction
We are fourth-year architecture students at Wrocław University of Science and Technology. We met during our studies, and our shared passion and enthusiasm for architectural design immediately brought us together.
Design Concept
The creation of the project was inspired by the local culture, which is based on openness and a sense of social community. We wanted the building to be ecological and blend into the surroundings by using rounded shapes and natural materials.
Bohemian Lifestyle Integration
Our design reflects the Bohemian lifestyle through eclectic elements, and unconventional materials, empty walls to promoting artistic expression and individuality. Multifunctional communal spaces encourage community, while dedicated areas for artistic activities foster a sense of creativity and freedom.
Cultural Harmony
The facility is located in Niewiesze next to an artificial lake named PÅ‚awniowice. With purpose of creating a family-oriented and homely atmosphere, which forms the basis of Polish culture, we designed common spaces for integration and spending time together. Drawing inspiration from characteristic elements of our culture such as dances, songs, and folk costumes, we created functions related to them, such as a sewing, painting, and theatrical room, allowing you to get closer and explore this culture more deeply.
Innovation and Creativity
Our design innovates with for low and organic shapes, workshop's walls are prepared for painting by guests, so that everyone can leave behind an artistic expression, and cottages, in which thematic apartments are scattered throughout the plot. Additionally, on plot is an orchard that everyone could use it and feel at home for unique guest experience.
Community Reflections
We want to Bohemian hostel design as a catalyst for positive community impact. We designed communal areas, such as a restaurant with large round tables for 8 or 6 people, a stage for dance and music performances, a painting studio and a tailoring workshop, area for practicing yoga, big grills and an orchard. Everything to give integration's opportunity for people and help understand that everybody need other people.
Advice for Fellow Designers
For Bohemian-themed designs, it's important to do good research before design. Prioritize personal expression, experiment with unconventional elements, and stay open to continuous exploration. Remember that you design for people and think what to do to encourage people want visit your building.
