Competition Introduction
“I do not claim to know what space is. The longer I think about it, the more mysterious it becomes. About one thing, however, I am sure: when we, as architects are concerned with space, we are contending with but a tiny part of the infinity that surrounds the earth, and yet each and every building marks a unique place in that infinity”.
— Peter Zumthor
This competition intends to understand the spaces of the built environment and their effect on the human mind and behavior. Every space has some effect on our minds depending on the quality of that space. We as human beings have an inner connection with our environment through physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual means. Architecture fosters various levels of controlled interaction between people and space.
Aim:
To understand the effect of the built environment on the Human Mind.
Objective:
• A design a space that induces positivity.
• Design a facility for people to rejuvenate their emotional and physical states.
